Can I become a french citizen if I marry a person who has French citizenship ?

14/03/2022

It is possible to become a french citizen if you are married for a minimum period of 4 years to a person of french citizenship.

Of course, if you get divorced in year 3 of your mariage, you risk not being eligible for french citizenship.

If you and your significant other don't have french citizenship but your children are born in France, they may apply for french citizenship at 18 years old under the condition that they still reside in France and that they resided in France for a total of 5 years from the age of 11.
